Consultations
Having decided to invest in your wild flower garden, the ideal solution to attract the British wild life into your garden, orchard or meadow. Good advice to start with is fundamental to prevent failure, having the right plants for the right soil conditions and habitats can save on the long run as your plants will thrive and feed the guests.
Our experienced passionate team can visit your location, fees discussed over time required and distance travelled, to select the suitable plants for your location, soil and environmental conditions and relevant food source for the visitor that you are wanting to attract. We can supply an extensive range of plants from our wild flower nursery. We can do remote telephone consultations and long term support. Testimonial: Sue Stewart & Neil Pearce Lodge Farm Plants have created a beautiful wild flower meadow for us, which in its first year is already attracting masses of bees and butterflies. We contacted them after we had had a bad experience with a rogue trader, and been left with, among other things, a meadow full of thistles, nettles and other weeds, which we ourselves dealt with over the course of a year. In spring 2010, ready for a new start, we contacted Lodge Farm Plants, and Jan and Sam Cook arrived as our two Fairy Godmothers. Over the next few weeks they planted 1500 wildflower plants, as well as non-invasive varieties of grass seed, giving careful thought to which plants would best suit each particular area. We carefully watered and weeded the meadow until it established itself, and now, only two months later, much sooner than I expected, we have an almost fully formed meadow. If it looks this beautiful this year, I cannot wait to see what it will be like next year. We have dozens of different varieties of wild flowers, each one a work of art, and to walk through the meadow on a sunny day, accompanied by bees and butterflies, is a truly uplifting experience. Our cats love it too! Sue Stewart
